Personal sourcing — Japan & Germany Start your search →
How it works

From first conversation to key handover.

The complete sourcing process in eight concrete steps. No hidden intermediate stages, no unclear cost items. We work transparently and at your pace.

The process in 8 steps

  1. Intake conversation

A no-obligation conversation — online, via WhatsApp or in Welsum — in which we map out your wishes, budget, timeline and route preference. No sales pressure: together we check whether there is a match between what you are looking for and what we can credibly deliver. If we have doubts, we say so honestly.

  2. Recording your profile

We work out a detailed search brief: brand, model, specification, model year, mileage, colour, option packages, must-haves and deal-breakers. This document is recorded in the engagement confirmation so we can later verify whether a candidate fits. The active search only starts after your explicit approval.

  3. Presenting candidates

Per auction cycle (for Japan), or as soon as there is a match, we send you candidates with full documentation: photos, the original auction sheet or dealer report, our plain-English commentary, estimated landed cost and known risks per specification. You decide whether we bid — no action without your green light.

  4. Bid and purchase

After your approval, we place a bid on your behalf. At Japanese auctions the hammer typically falls within 24 hours; payment to JCD within 48 hours. With German dealers we negotiate directly on site, often preceded by an inspection before the final bid. The final price remains transparently reported.

  5. Transport and import

Japan route: domestic transport within Japan, export formalities and RoRo sea freight to Rotterdam (on average 5-6 weeks, occasionally stretching to 7-8 weeks with carrier delays or seasonal effects). Europe route: direct truck transport to Welsum (2-5 days). During transit you receive interim updates with photos and tracking information so you stay informed throughout.

  6. Import paperwork and registration

After arrival in Welsum we start the formalities. For delivery in the Netherlands we handle everything turnkey: any reconditioning, the RDW inspection, the BPM declaration via the most favourable method, and registration — typically 2-5 weeks. For other EU countries we prepare the complete customs and import paperwork and guide you through registration in your own country.

  7. Delivery to your door

Once the paperwork is complete, we plan a personal delivery at your home or a location of your choice — across the Netherlands and neighbouring countries, and further across Europe on request. During the handover we walk you through the car, the dashboard and the documents. The final invoice is complete and transparent at the moment of delivery.

  8. Optional detailing

If desired, our selected partners provide deep cleaning, leather restoration or ceramic coating — before delivery or as aftercare. We arrange the logistics and quality assurance; the detailing invoice runs directly between you and the specialist. No obligation, but a recommended finishing touch for an enthusiast's car.
